What We Do & How We Do IT!
The NIHAS consists of two entities, historical and airsoft. New and existing members can choose to be part of one or both. It truly depends on what fun and enjoyment you wish to get from the society.
Within the Historical, the main focus is:
-
Re-enactments (boar war right through to second world war)
-
Historical displays & talks with genuine artefacts
-
Research into social, economic, political and military history
-
Training (drill, weapon handling, tactics)
-
Social gatherings, meetings & gaming nights
Within the Airsoft, the main focus is:
-
Airsofting (small games & milsim events)
-
Survival/ bushcraft & airsoft camping
-
Training (drill, weapon handling, tactics)
-
Society dinner events, public & private
-
Social gatherings, meetings & gaming nights
-
Expeditions (field trips across Europe, Africa & India)
As you can see, the society has so much to offer with no limitation or restrictions. If a new or existing member feels that airsoft or physical activity isn’t for them and solely wishes to get involved in re-enactments or historical displays, that is perfectly acceptable. At the end of the day, the society entails to different activities for different folks to choose from.
The aim is to reach out far as possible, to create a community of like-minded historians, reenactors, airsofters and to develop a network of friends and comrades with similar interests and hobbies.
There is a membership fee of £40 per person for the year. This gets you a membership ID card, access to uniforms & webbing, camp equipment and the necessary training you will receive.
If you have any questions about the NIHAS and are interested in joining up or merely looking to see what it’s all about, please contact us, or why not follow us on our socials!
